A brief becomes the finished document - argued in an order, laid out, and editable in the application it belongs to. Not a picture of a deck.
From brief to file
An outline generator stops at the words and leaves the building to you. The difference here is the last step: what arrives is the artefact itself, in the application that owns it, with everything still selectable.
Not a title and a page count. Who is in the room, what they are being asked to decide, and which way you think the answer goes. A document that knows the decision it supports can order itself; one that only knows the topic cannot.
Live multi-source research runs first, and a concrete claim has to appear in two independent sources before it is allowed into the body. What it read stays attached, so a number in a chart can be walked back to where it came from.
A deck is authored as real text boxes, shapes and native charts. A workbook gets typed cells and live formulas. A document gets styles and a contents table that updates. None of it is a rendered image with a file extension.
Move a slide, retype a heading, drag a series on a chart, change an input and watch the dependent cells move. This is the step that decides whether you received a document or a screenshot of one, and it is the reason the other three are shaped the way they are.

Who asks for the file
The test is never how it looks on the day. It is what happens on the Monday after, when somebody wants the third chart changed and the meeting is at four.
A readout is judged on whether the argument holds when somebody pulls on it. Being able to point at the source under a claim, in the room, is worth more than another round of polish, and the deck still has to be editable by an analyst that evening.
A board pack is numbers before it is slides, and the numbers have to move together. A workbook whose formulas still calculate is a different object from a picture of a table, and only one of the two survives a question about the assumptions.
A category overview, a launch rationale, a quarterly readout: all of them are the same job of turning a pile of reading into an argument somebody can act on. The reading is the expensive part, and it is the part that usually gets skipped.
The deck goes out attached to an email, so it has to hold up with nobody standing beside it. It also has to be reshaped for the next conversation without starting again, which is the whole difference between owning a file and owning a link to one.
