A collection walked, from one shot description
A wet night street, briefed like a location day

Products · Video

One shot description, five to fifteen seconds.

Brief it the way you would brief a DoP - the move, the light, the lens - and set the duration, the aspect and the finish as controls rather than as another roll of the dice. Both films below are the studio's own output.

The call sheet

Ask for it the way you would ask a crew.

A still that comes back wrong can be re-rolled until one lands, and the cost of that is a few seconds. A clip cannot: what has to be repeatable is the MOVE, and there is no way to ask for the same walk from a locked-off camera unless the camera was something you named in the first place. On the left are the words the shot description takes; on the right, the pills the studio renders - and both halves survive into the next take.

Two ways in

A brief, or a frame you already shot.

01
From a description
The shot in words. It builds the subject, the location and the move from the brief, so nothing has to exist first.
02
From a frame you already have
Wire a still in and the studio animates THAT - the same garment, the same face, the same light - instead of rendering a similar one. On the whiteboard it is a wire from an image card to a video card.

Who needs it moving

Where a still stops being enough.

None of these is a film. They are the short pieces of motion a brand needs constantly, at a cadence no shoot schedule was ever built to serve.

Social and paid media

A feed rewards motion and punishes repetition, so the same product has to appear moving in several ways within a week. Naming the move rather than re-rolling until something lands is what makes a second version a variation instead of a fresh gamble.

Show and event

The walk, the turn, the fabric catching the light: these are the seconds that carry a collection when the room is not there to see it. They also have to be cut to the length a platform accepts, which is a decision better made before rendering than after.

Product pages

A garment that only exists as flat photography tells a shopper nothing about how it hangs or moves. A few seconds of that, in a vertical the page already has a slot for, answers the question returns data keeps asking on the customer's behalf.

Treatment and approval

Signing off a shoot means persuading somebody of a feeling before it has been filmed. A clip that can be re-rendered with the camera locked off instead of tracking is an argument that can be settled in the meeting rather than on the day.
